After the Bell Rings: Our Engaging Extracurricular Activities and Clubs
The excitement doesn’t end when the final bell rings at Union Colony Schools (UCS). Books and basketballs. Soccer and sculptures. Math and science clubs--we’ve got it all. Our tuition-free public charter school takes a holistic approach to education that takes our K-12 students outside the classroom and into their imaginations. Our extracurricular activities and clubs are fun and they allow our students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and make new friends. At UCS, the Timberwolves howl with pride!
Athletics: Building Teamwork and Fitness
We’re passionate about physical fitness and teamwork. Our faculty and staff understand the connection between team spirit and personal growth. For prep school, we offer competitive teams in girls’ volleyball, boys’ soccer, boys’ and girls’ basketball, and girls’ soccer. Our middle school teams include boys’ soccer, girls’ basketball, girls’ volleyball, boys’ basketball, and girls’ soccer. Passionate coaches guide students to be their best on and off the field. Arts and Music: Letting Creativity Roam Free
UCS arts and music programs are dens of creativity. Students interested in visual arts can join the Art Club to work on projects like painting, drawing, etc. Our choir provides a platform for those with a musical inclination to hone their vocals and perform at several school and community events. These programs cultivate artistic talents while boosting confidence and teamwork.
Academic Clubs: Encouraging Intellectual Strength
For students who love challenging themselves academically, we have various clubs to promote intellectual growth and curiosity. Our Math and Science Clubs are popular choices with hands-on experiments, competitions, and collaborative projects which all allow students to go deeper into their favorite subjects.
Our Student Council helps students enhance their public speaking and critical thinking skills, preparing them for future leadership roles.
Leadership and Service: Making a Difference and Creating Unity
Both our campuses emphasize leadership and community service. The Student Council is an incredible part of our school community, where students can take on leadership roles, organize school events, and represent their peers. When it comes to community services, our students lead the pack, often giving back to the local community while learning the value of empathy and social responsibility.
